The face of modern Italian cinema, Mastroianni was the perfect anti-heartthrob: seductive out of weariness, elegant out of irony. With Fellini he created in Guido Anselmi the definitive portrait of the artist in crisis.

He worked with Visconti, Antonioni, De Sica and Ferreri, most often beside Sophia Loren or Anouk Aimée, in more than 140 films.
