At Globo since the 1980s, Guel Arraes invented a way of making television with the grammar of cinema — fast, popular and formally restless, from Armação Ilimitada to his own production unit.

A Dog’s Will, a miniseries that became a feature, is the perfect example of his project: Suassuna translated into audiovisual language without losing the verse.

Career

1981–1995
Armação Ilimitada, TV Pirata and the renewal of television language.
1999–present
A Dog’s Will, Lisbela and the Prisoner, and leading his unit at Globo.
